Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech → Imlil → Tizi Mzik Pass → Tamsoult
We'll pick you up from your accommodation in Marrakech and drive towards the High Atlas Mountains. Our destination is the village of Imlil (1,740m), where you'll meet your guide and muleteer. The trek begins with a climb up to the Tizi Mzik pass (2,489m), offering stunning views. From the pass, we traverse towards the Azzaden Valley, passing the beautiful Tamsoult waterfalls before arriving at our overnight accommodation at the Tamsoult Refuge (2,250m). (Approx. 6 hours trekking)
Day 2: Tamsoult → Aguelzim Pass → Toubkal Refuge
A challenging but highly rewarding day awaits. We embark on a long, steady climb up a winding path to the Aguelzim Pass at 3,560m. The effort is worthwhile, as the pass provides spectacular, panoramic views of Mount Toubkal and the surrounding peaks. From here, we descend to the Toubkal Refuge (3,207m), our base for the summit attempt, where we'll spend the night. (Approx. 7 hours trekking)
Day 3: Summit Mount Toubkal & Return to Refuge
An early start is required for the main event: the ascent of Mount Toubkal (4,167m). The climb is challenging and steep in places, but not technical. We'll follow a well-trodden path to the summit ridge. The panoramic views from the top are truly breathtaking, stretching across the entire Atlas range. After celebrating our achievement and taking photos, we'll begin the careful descent back to the Toubkal Refuge for a well-earned rest and overnight stay. (Approx. 6-7 hours trekking)
Day 4: Toubkal Refuge → Imlil
Enjoy a more relaxed morning at the refuge. After breakfast, we begin our descent back towards Imlil. The walk down is long but gradual, allowing you to enjoy the mountain scenery from a different perspective. We'll pass through the holy site of Sidi Chamharouch before arriving back in Imlil in the afternoon. You'll check into a local guesthouse and enjoy a celebratory dinner. (Approx. 4-5 hours trekking)
Day 5: Imlil → Marrakech
Enjoy a final, leisurely breakfast in the mountains. You'll have some free time in the morning to relax or buy local crafts from the village. In the afternoon, we will make the scenic drive back to Marrakech, where we will drop you off at your accommodation, concluding your mountain adventure.
